On March 18, 2020 the Vancouver Squash League (VSL) sent out the following email to league players:
Due to recent circumstances and developments with the COVID virus the VSL will be suspending play indefinitely.
At this time, several our member clubs have closed their facilities which will greatly impact our players and the ability to play matches.
Squash Canada and Squash BC have also halted all competitions up to and including the National Championships in May.
We hope to continue with our playoffs in the spring and will inform you once we have more information as the situation evolves.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope you take care during this uncertain time.

VSL League Coordinator
On July 14, 2020 the VSL sent out the following update:
On behalf of the Board of Directors I am sending this communication piece to update everyone on the status of the VSL.
We are happy to see clubs reopening and members being granted court access once again. Each of our 14 member clubs are at different stages of re-opening and we hope players are beginning to play squash again.
At this time, with most of our member clubs not permitting guests and the continuing uncertainty with COVID and a potential second wave, the Board has made the decision to suspend the VSL.
We are closely monitoring the situation with all of our member clubs and looking for alternative to maintain some form of VSL at the club level this year.
We do still hope to complete our 2019-2020 league playoffs and begin the 2020-2021 season in the near future when it is safe to do so. The safety of our league players is our top priority. We will not be making any decisions to restart VSL until all of our clubs are open, permitting full play and allowing guests into the respective facilities.
RULES & REGULATIONS
In the meantime, we are taking the time to review our current rules and regulations. If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the current rules and regulations of VSL now is the time to communicate ideas or items for consideration. We would like to ensure that our rules and regulations are current and fair for all of our league participants.
VSL LOOKING FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS
As we review our current league rules & regulations we are looking for new blood and ideas to help grow the VSL. If you are interested in contributing to our team we would love to hear from you. Some of the specific skillsets we have identified at this time to help our position include but not limited to are Legal/Liability as well as Marketing/Social Media Strategist.
